Core means what is ever present now - length, width, thickness. That is what I call "Core." So basically, it’s a high performance short board and available in squash, swallow, and rounded pin tails.

As for the type of bottoms we put on these boards, it varies with the designers. For me, I stay with the double barrel, double concave on the tail, as the thing goes forward, so in front of the fins I put a "V" to it.

I don’t put any full concaves on the board, and the reason why is because everything on the core board has to be surfed on the tail, not the middle of the board.

So my core type of boards are made for actually really kicking the tails. I think kicking the tail will sum it up, that is, how to use the core board.
